LBPD Investigates Murder of Woman Found on Parkway

crime-scene-tape murder female on parkw3ayOn Monday, August 30, 2010, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Long Beach police responded to the 300 block of East 56th Street to assist the Long Beach Fire Department with a body of an adult female that was found laying in the parkway.

The victim, whose city of residence is unknown, is only being identified as a 27-year old female until family can be notified. She was found laying on the parkway with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears as though the shooting may have occurred sometime during the night. The body was discovered this morning when a passerby saw her and called 9-1-1. A motive for this shooting is unknown at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
