LBPD Seeking Public Assistance In Murder Investigation

On Thursday, March 24, 2011, at approximately 10:26 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department were dispatched to assist Long Beach Fire Department personnel with a subject found lying in an alley in the 1500 block of Pine Avenue. The subject, a male adult, had sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper body and was transported by paramedics to a local hospital in critical condition.
On Friday, March 25, 2011, at 10:44 p.m. the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. He has been identified as Philip Victor Williamson, a 29-year-old resident of Los Angeles, who was born and raised in Chico, California, and known to frequent the West Los Angeles area.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Victim Williamson, who was not known to frequent Long Beach, was shot a short time before being found by a passerby in the alley. Long Beach Police are asking for the public’s help in determining his last known whereabouts that evening, and any other information one may have pertaining to this case.
