LBPD’s S.W.A.T. Team Takes 1st Place in Green Beret’s Shooters Cup

Green Beret's Shooters CupOn Saturday, October 13, 2012, members of the Long Beach Police Department’s S.W.A.T. Team participated in the Green Beret’s Shooters Cup held by Special Forces Association Chapter 78 in Corona, California. The competition benefits the Green Beret Foundation and consists of several tactical pistol events that test the team’s speed accuracy and problem solving abilities.

Twenty-one teams competed including multiple teams from L.A.P.D., the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, the San Diego Police Department, the F.B.I., as well as military units. At the end of the daylong competition, members of the L.B.P.D.’s S.W.A.T. Team triumphed and were presented the Special Forces #78 Shooters Cup.

The men and women of the Long Beach Police Department would like to congratulate the members of the L.B.P.D. S.W.A.T. Team for a job well done!
