LBT Schedule Changes Start Sunday; Water Taxi Season Extended

Starting Sunday, August 24, Long Beach Transit service changes will commence. Changes to the transit service include an extension of the popular water taxi system with daily service set to continue through Labor Day. Full service changes are as follows:
Routes 101, 102, 103, 104: Routes 101 & 103 will now operate on Sunday giving access all weekend to the Long Beach Towne Center. Route 104 will begin weekend service giving access to El Dorado Park, El Dorado Nature Center, and Long Beach Towne Center on weekends. School trippers have been converted to regular service on routes 101 and 103 with more frequent trips in the morning and afternoon.
AquaLink and AquaBus Water Taxis: Regular 7-day-a-week service will continue through Labor Day, September 1, 2014. On Friday, September 5, Long Beach Transit will commence a new Friday through Sunday weekend schedule that will operate through October 26, 2014.
Passport: The Passport returns to fall/winter service running every 15 minutes. Since April 2014, the Passport route has been on detour. The current detour has the Passport traveling along Pacific Ave. and Long Beach Blvd. instead of Pine Ave. north of Ocean. The bus stops on Pine between 1st St. and Ocean will be closed during the detour. For northbound trips, customers should use the stop on Pacific at Ocean. For southbound trips, customers should use the temporary stop on the south side of Ocean at Pacific. This long-term detour can change at any time. Routes 21, 22: There will be minor late night changes on the weekend.
Route 45: A layover stop has been added on Santa Fe at Cowles, southwest. Minor schedule changes seven days per week will result from the new stop.
Route 52: One earlier and one later trip has been added to accommodate employees working in the area. The southbound 52 schedule has been adjusted to avoid peak congestion in the morning and afternoon at Colin Powell Academy.
Route 81: The 3:30 pm trip leaving Studebaker at Anaheim Rd will now leave at 3:25 pm to better serve after-school travelers from Hill Middle School.
Routes 91, 92, 93, 94, 96, 110: These routes return to a fall/winter schedule with more frequent service.
Route 121: The morning layover has been changed from Atherton at Ximeno to PCH at Clark to improve service for students going to CSULB.
Route 131, 191 and 192: There will be minor weekday schedule adjustments.
Route 151: Route has been extended to Chavez Park in the evening to accommodate need for later
service in the area. There will be minor weekday schedule adjustments.
Route 171: Frequency of morning and afternoon service has been increased to improve service. One additional westbound trip has been added between 6:15 pm and 7:00 pm to accommodate
