Leadership Long Beach invites the community to learn more about the programs and activities of LLB at its Leadership Connections event/reception on Monday, March 4 from 5:30 PM to 7 PM at the offices of Keesal, Young & Logan. This free event will be an informational meet-and-greet for interested individuals who would like to learn more about the LLB adult principled leadership programs and the opportunity to join its 25th “Silver” Class for the 2013-14 year. Keesal, Young & Logan is located at 400 Oceangate Long Beach, CA 90802 with free parking is available in their garage, entering from Seaside Way. Attendees should RSVP by March 1 to Oscar Cosby at 562.997.9194 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The goals for the adult programs include connecting people of diverse backgrounds with demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment for the future of Long Beach; providing an educational experience that encompasses all aspects of the city; and creating a strong network of alumni who can serve as resources for the community. LLB prides itself on incorporating principles, core values and ethics to the leadership and informational sessions in order to have the participants gain a fuller understanding of the city and the region.
“Leadership Long Beach has been serving the Long Beach community for 24 years contributing toward the leaders at every level throughout the sectors of the city,” stated James Kruger, Board President for LLB Board. “We have been putting our program participants and alumni in direct conversations with city and business leaders for the past 24 years, addressing key issues and encouraging involvement on all levels of our community. With this 25th “Silver Class,” we want to make sure that we continue to invite and attract people who want a rewarding experience and be able to find their niche to engage themselves within the community.”
In addition to providing prospective program participants information about LLB programs, Leadership Connections is a Spring mixer for LLB alumni to gather and network while they also get information about upcoming events, activities and opportunities for LLB. In the coming months, LLB will have community service projects completed by its youth and adult LLB programs, the Annual Putt-Putt on Pine – a ‘friend-raising’ event in downtown Long Beach, and the youth and adult graduation events.
About Leadership Long Beach:
Leadership Long Beach was founded in 1989 by some of our community’s most influential and visionary stakeholders. These founders envisioned the formation of a civic improvement program that would serve the community by educating and motivating leaders on issues important to the future and sustainability of our city. The leaders produced by the Leadership Long Beach program have shared experiences, associations and values that enable them to set imaginative, yet realistic goals, and achieve them through coordinated and effective strategies. Leadership Long Beach has three principled leadership programs – Leadership Long Beach, Youth Leadership Long Beach and Executive Quick Start – as well as offers continual leadership and networking opportunities throughout the year.
