Lillian Kawasaki to Host “Meet the Candidate” Event at First Fridays

With Election Day on Tuesday, April 10, 8th District Council Candidate Lilian Kawasaki is reaching out to potential voters this week. As part of the monthly First Friday event along Atlantic Avenue, Kawasaki will host a “Meet the Candidate” Open House from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at her campaign headquarters located at 3844 Atlantic Avenue. Kawasaki will be on hand to discuss issues important to residents of the 8th District and the City of Long Beach.

Kawasaki’s campaign recently announced a new endorsement from former Long Beach Councilmember Mike Donelon. He joins other community members and current and former elected officials that have given Kawasaki their support over the past several months. Other notable endorsements include: Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster, former Mayor Beverly O’Neill, State Senator Alan Lowenthal, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe, Long Beach Auditor Laura Doud, Long Beach School Board Member Mary Stanton, and Long Beach City College Board Trustee Doug Otto.

Kawasaki, who currently represents Division 3 of the Water Replenishment District of Southern California, has more than 35 years of experience and knowledge on a broad range of business and environmental issues. She has held numerous key public service positions in local government and is active in the communities that make up the 8th District.

Lillian has also served on the Historical Society of Long Beach, Friends of Manzanar, Long Beach Water Commission, California Bay Delta Public Advisory Committee, Small Business Development Center Network Advisory Council, and California Sustainability Alliance. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Master of Science in Biology from California State University, Los Angeles. Lillian resides in the Los Cerritos/Bixby Knolls area of Long Beach.
