Councilmember Robert Garcia and the Redevelopment Agency will unveil new signs designating the Linden Avenue Historic District in a ceremony on Saturday, July 30, at 10 am, at the corner of Linden Avenue and 14th Street. The public is invited to attend.
The new signs are part of improvements to the neighborhood, which is located along Linden Avenue from Anaheim Street to 14th Street. The improvements are the result of a collaboration among Councilmember Garcia’s office; neighborhood residents; the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency, which funded the signs; and the City’s Neighborhood Partners Program, which provided funding for new planters and trash cans.
“These improvements really enhance the look and feel of the street, and I’m especially proud of the new signs, which will draw attention to this great historic community,” Garcia said. “With the invaluable partnership of the Redevelopment Agency, we are working hard to beautify and enhance the entire First District with many improvements, from new parks and community gardens to entirely new streetscapes. This is just one part of that process.”
