When Willie McGinest has something to say, he commands the attention of all within earshot. When Snoop Dogg has something to say, everyone listens. These two Long Beach Legends spoke along with Sixth District City Councilman, Dee Andrews about their support for the Long Beach Kroc Center project at Ristorante daVinci in Long Beach.
In addition to proclaiming his support for the project, Snoop Dogg made a special announcement regarding his specific participation with the Long Beach Kroc Center.
The Long Beach Kroc Center is a $100+ million dollar Salvation Army facility that will provide art, culture, education and recreation to those under served members of our community. The state-of-the-art facility is being proposed for Long Beach’s Sixth District, one of the poorest and most troubled Districts in all of the United States. The project is being developed by The Salvation Army thanks in part to a generous donation by Joan Kroc to provide these facilities and activities where help is needed the most.
“I am so excited about this project. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for this City and it will attract jobs and tourism to the City of Long Beach,” said Councilman Dee Andrews.
Housed within the Kroc Center will be state-of-the-art facilities including sound studios for a youth music program, art studios, even a horticultural center. Classrooms and adult education and training will be included as well as full-service recreation facilities and programs.
