Long Beach Airport Taking Steps to Improve Relations with Business Aviation Industry
2011-02-08 · By Editor
Though LGB has recently been touted for its Airport Modernization Plan capital improvements to better serve commercial service passengers, the Airport is also actively working to improve fiscal outcomes and passenger experiences for general aviation users.
This month Long Beach Airport business development staff are partnering with representatives of several corporate aviation tenants, flight schedulers and flight dispatches to coordinate the schedules of corporate aircraft. Long Beach Airport, Toyota Airflite, Aeroplex Aerolease Group, Jet Flight International, Signature Flight Support, and Flight Safety International will collectively work to increase awareness of the Airport’s optimum position in the Los Angeles Basin and premier aircraft support services.
“We believe that we do more than any other airport in the country to work with our tenants to build strong ties to the business aviation community, and we will continue to do even more,” Airport Director Mario Rodriguez said.
Curt Castagna, CEO of Areoplex Aerolease Group, said, “The City of Long Beach must be commended for their effort to recognize the value of its airport and for partnering with their airport businesses. This partnership displays the many quality business aviation firms located at Long Beach Airport as well as the amenities that should encourage new organizations to base their operations in Long Beach. The success of our City depends on this strategic economic development partnership.”
Mr. Rodriguez added, “Long Beach Airport is the best location for business travelers to the Los Angeles Basin. Our facility is home to award-winning Fixed Base Operators with competitive pricing, flight training, aircraft maintenance, and access to quality on-airport hotels. Finally, our airfield provides easy access to LA and Orange County business centers.”
