Urban coyotes have existed in the City of Long Beach and the surrounding area for years. Education is the most important component in learning to co-exist with these wild animals.

The Long Beach Animal Care Services Bureau is proud to have nationally recognized coyote expert Lynsey White Dasher from the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) visit Long Beach on Thursday, August 16 to speak about coyotes. Ms. Dasher is an Urban Wildlife Specialist with the HSUS. Her seminar will cover several topics including coyote behavior, attractants, deterrent methods such as hazing, trapping, and many others. A question and answer session will follow each presentation.

Ms. Dasher will conduct two free educational seminars on August 16:

1:30 – 3:00 PM
P.D. Pitchford Companion Village Auditorium
7700 E. Spring Street, Long Beach

6:30 – 8:00 PM
Skylinks Golf Course
4800 E. Wardlow Road, Long Beach

The public is asked to RSVP to (562) 570-3072 or animalcare@longbeach.gov for this event.
