“We are excited to continue to provide support and hope to Long Beach families during these tough times,” said Kym Livesay, co-founder of the Long Beach Basket Brigade. “Through our Poker & Bunco Tournaments, along with the generosity of individual and business donors, we hope to raise enough funds to produce and deliver more than 600 baskets again this Thanksgiving.”

The Long Beach Basket Brigade was founded in 2005 in the living room of local Long Beach residents. Their efforts have grown from providing 50 Thanksgiving holiday baskets that first year to more than 640 baskets in 2009.

The Long Beach Basket Brigade’s 2nd Annual Poker & Bunco Tournaments will be held at the Alpert Jewish Community Center in Long Beach. In addition to the Poker & Bunco Tournaments, there will be both a silent and a live auction, with complimentary food generously provided by La Strada, a local, 2nd Street favorite.
