April is National Library Month, and the Long Beach Public Library is celebrating by launching a Mobile Studio, and by offering an Overdue Fines Amnesty Program as well. “Libraries provide opportunities for all residents to learn, grow and discover new skills, and we are committed to increasing access to all our wonderful library resources,” said Mayor Robert Garcia.

Artists For Cambodia Town Mural Project Announced by Arts Council for Long Beach

In October, the Arts Council for Long Beach launched the Cambodia Town Mural Project, an initiative that will install eight public art murals along Anaheim Street between Long Beach Blvd. and Junipero Ave. This project is in partnership with Cambodia Town Inc., United Cambodian Community (UCC), Homeland Cultural Center (HCC), the offices of councilmembers Daryl Supernaw (4th District), Dee Andrews (6th District) and Midtown Business Improvement District.

Long Beach Celebrates First Anniversary of Bike Share

The City of Long Beach Thursday, March 17, unveiled the first “Unicorn Bike” to help celebrate the Long Beach Bike Share program’s first anniversary. One of the distinctive bright blue bicycles was temporarily transformed into a one-of-a-kind, specially branded bike – complete with hot pink paint and sugar skulls – for a partnership between CycleHop, the City’s Bike Share program operator, and Lola’s Mexican Cuisine, 2030 E.
