Long Beach Latinos In Action to Host Women’s Wellness Conference at Dignity Health St. Mary Medical Center

Long Beach Latinos in Action will hold a women’s wellness conference for the second consecutive year at Dignity Health St. Mary Medical Center on Saturday, March 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Conferencia Para la Mujer Latina will take place in the Health Enhancement Center and feature speakers on topics ranging from mental health to civil rights to the arts. Poets, writers and singers, including Mariachi Garibaldi, will perform at the event.
The St. Mary Mobile Clinic will provide glucose screening and information about maternity care, and prenatal nutrition and caring for a new baby. Information will also be available regarding St. Mary’s new Benefits/Navigation Program.
Participating sponsors plan to donate gift items for attendees. Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia and former Mayor Bonnie Lowenthal will attend the conference. Long Beach Councilmember Lena Gonzalez will give the keynote address.
Martha Cota, who founded the Long Beach Latinos In Action in 2009, will be honored at the event for 25 years of volunteer service to the community.
