The Long Beach Lambda Democratic Club (LBLDC) will host its 31st Annual Human Rights Banquet and Awards dinner on the evening of Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in beautiful Downtown Long Beach at The Reef Restaurant located at 880 South Harbor Scenic Drive. This year’s Keynote Address will be delivered by California State Treasurer Bill Lockyer.
This past year we have experienced great progress,” said Herlinda Chico, the club’s Vice President and Banquet Chair. “But our work is not finished. This is why it is so important to highlight the efforts of this year’s honorees – they are the changing face of Equality.”
This year, LBLDC will honor community members and elected officials including Assembly Member Ricardo Lara and filmmaker Charlie Gage. A full list of the awardees can be found online at www.lblambdadems.org. Early ticket purchase and RSVP is strongly encouraged and can be made on LBLDC’s Web site.
LBLDC is the only LGBT Democratic organization in Long Beach, with a local membership of several hundreds of voters across the region. Their activities and political donations each year have ensured victory to nearly every candidate they have endorsed. The club’s biggest annual fundraiser is the Human Rights Banquet.
