What would you do if you knew the future? Would any of your choices change? John Pace Seavering is about to find out. Starting a publishing company in 1919 is no easy task especially when his best friend, Danny McCreary, and his secret lover, black jazz singer Jessie Brewer, both battle to be the first published. A mysterious machine arrives providing a glimpse into the future illuminating what Seavering’s choices could mean.

The Violet Hour cast includes, Sean Gray (Gidger), Adam Hale (John Pace Seavering), Alex Walters (Denny McCleary), Doshanna Bell (Jessie Brewster), and Caitlyn Tella

The Violet Hour preview night, Friday, July 2 8 p.m. tickets are $12/$10. Opening night $25. The rest of the run tickets are $22/$20/$12. Tickets are available on the Long Beach Playhouse website or call 562/494-1014.

The Long Beach Playhouse (LBP), established in 1929, is the longest continually running community theatre this side of the Mississippi. LBP produces 16 shows annually with a new play or musical every three weeks on the Mainstage, or upstairs in the Studio Theatre.
