Long Beach restaurants are taking their menus to new heights in February. Chefs are planning exotic appetizers, inspired entrees and rich desserts that will give lovers a taste of something truly special this Valentine’s Day.
Finding a romantic restaurant for Valentine’s Day isn’t difficult in Long Beach. But with all the stress and pressure of this once-a-year love-fest, wouldn’t it be nice to have more than just dinner? How about a relaxing atmosphere where everything is taken care of? Prix Fixe dining is a wonderful indulgence. Let the Chef plan the menu and you and your sweetheart will be free to focus on more important things… like the bubbles in the Champagne.
Drink in the Love at Sip
Sip Lounge, lead by Executive Chef Michael Poompan, is putting together a three-course Valentine’s Dinner for two. SIP is known for their menu of sustainable seafood and meat and locally sourced foods, often purchased from farmers markets. On February 14, choose from entreés of Pacific swordfish, Niman Ranch Pork or Brandt prime rib all served with Sip’s signature seasonal vegetable side dishes. The price is $100 per couple and includes a half-bottle of Clos Du Val chardonnay or merlot.

Fuego at The Maya
Fuego at the Hotel Maya will serve a special four-course dinner of Latin-infused cuisine accompanied by live Latin jazz with the FJ Reyes Latin Trio. For Valentine’s Day dinner, Fuego Executive Chef Victor Juarez has a recipe for romance. Entrees include Prime Filet Mignon, Aromatic poached Halibut, or Red Currant and Molasses-glazed Duck. Dinner Among the Stars
Celebrate a day of love in a romantic restaurant with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and City Skyline. The Sky Room Restaurant has created a special menu designed to heighten your senses featuring only ingredients which are deemed an aphrodisiac. Enjoy the soft sounds of a Jazz Quartet, a box of handcrafted artisan chocolates, a red rose and a glass of champagne with dessert. Tantalize your senses with every bite. There will be two seatings: 5p.m. to 8p.m. and 8:30p.m. to close. Dinner includes a complimentary glass of Champagne, long stem rose, box of chocolates and live music. Dinner costs $119 per person.

…On Naples, On Valentines
Michael’s On Naples will celebrate romance with a special five-course menu prepared by Executive Chef David Coleman. The entree includes your choice of Grilled block cut New York steak, Pan-seared Ahi tuna, or rack of Lamb. The meal finishes with Chocolate mousse with salted caramel or Strawberry and lemon trifle. Dine With Your Darling at Delius
Delius Restaurant will serve Valentine couples in two dining rooms February 13-15. The Prix Fixe dining room ($85) will serve a menu prepared by Chef Louise Solzman that includes hors d’oeuvre, appetizer, first course, main course, fresh bread, soup, vegetables, fruits and cheeses, and a dessert all paired with a 4-glass wine sampling selected by sommelier Dave Solzman. In addition, an a la carte menu will be served on Valentine’s Day only ($65), that will allow diners to select items from specially designed four-course menu.

Mimi’s French-Inspired Valentine’s Menu
Mimi’s Cafe is celebrating the season of love by offering a romantic prix fixe Valentine’s Menu for two at $26.99. The menu will offer guests a French-inspired three-course meal featuring a variety of delicious entrée options that include Chicken Madeira, Beef Bourguignon, Quatre Fromages Ravioli or “Soul” Piccata. For an additional $2.99 diners can upgrade from Mimi’s Classic Ensemble dessert to Cherry Chocolate Cheesecake or Chocolate Molten Cake. The Valentine’s Menu is available now through February 17 from 4 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Dine like Royalty aboard the Queen Mary
Take romance seaside on Valentine’s Day and reserve your table in one of the Queen Mary’s fine dining restaurants. On Thursday, Feb. 14, Sir Winston’s ($115), Chelsea’s Chowder House ($78) and Promenade Café ($58) will all offer a special Prix Fixe menu for couples from 5pm to 10pm.

Dinner and the Art of Dancing
What could be more romantic than an evening in Spain? Bring your sweetie to Cafe Sevilla for Valentine’s Day or the days leading up to it. The main dining room and tapas bar will host a special four-course dinner accompanied by live entertainment from Flamenco and Rumba guitarists. The Art of Flamenco Dinner, also with a four-course dinner, takes place in Club Sevilla. Both dinners are $49-69 per person, depending on seating time and date.
Love at the Lighthouse
