Long Beach Roller Derby Puts Sibling Rivalry on The Track

save $ by riding metroIt has been a great 2011 season for the Long Beach Roller Derby. Every bout on their new banked track has been better and more exciting than the last. In the last game at the Queen Mary Dome the newest team the Belmont Hot Broads were narrowly defeated by the by the Bixby Rollerettes who are now in sole possession of first place.

The league’s next bout will take place on August 19th pitting the amazing Coach Biodiesel’s Bixby Rollerettes up against her big sister Diesel’s team the Terminal Island Tootsies. According to Biodiesel who is keenly aware of her sister’s reputation for big hits, “I’m not scared of my big sis but I know our parents will be sitting on the edge of their seats hoping she doesn’t injure me!”

Once again the stands will be thundering and the crowds cheering as the two teams smash each other in another great full contact roller derby bout.

The Long Beach Roller Derby Banked Track Bout Bixby Rollerettes vs. Terminal Island Tootsies is Friday August 19th Doors open at 7pm game at 8:30 at the Queen Mary Dome (Derby Dome).

Tickets sell fast so advanced purchase is suggested. Tickets may be obtained at Moxi Roller Skate Shop at 2132 E. 4th Street, Long Beach CA, (562) 439-6694, at the Daily Grind (Big Donut) on 7th Street, and on-line at LongBeachRollerDerby.com/tickets. Ticket prices are $20 for Grand Stand Seating and $15 for General Admission, which now includes some elevated standing space. Also added for this bout is a special VIP section for $25.

The first 60 VIP ticket holders also have the option to take the Big Red Bus to and from the game for an additional $5. The bus will pick up and drop off at the Tilted Kilt near 2nd St. and PCH. The VIP section is limited to 100 seats total and are available only on-line at LongBeachRollerDerby.com/tickets. This is an all ages event with alcohol available with ID. In addition to exciting Roller Derby action there will also be a live band, fire dancing by Sirena Serpentina and food vendors.
