The Long Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted for a sexual assault that occurred on January 1, 2009 at 5:00 a.m. in the area of Cherry Avenue and Artesia Boulevard. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, in his 20’s, 5’8, 150-170 lbs, short brown combed back hair, brown eyes, mustache and goatee, who was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and baggy jeans.

The female victim was walking home from a party in the area of 68th Street and Cherry Avenue. As she was walking in the area of Cherry Avenue and the 91 Freeway she noticed a silver 4-door, possibly imported vehicle following her. The vehicle continued to follow her for a few blocks when the passenger of the vehicle got out and began chasing her down a side street. The suspect grabbed the victim, forced her to the ground, and both physically and sexually assaulted her. The attack resulted in major facial trauma that required surgery.

The suspect took some of her personal property and fled in the silver vehicle where the second suspect was waiting for him. The vehicle drove westbound on Artesia Boulevard and out of sight.
