Long Beach Symphony OrchestraGet ready to have a stomping good time when the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra presents Crescendo On The Vine, an evening of fine dining, wine tasting, music, grape stomping, and a paperless silent auction, to be held on Friday, May 4, 2012, from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. on the gorgeous newly re-landscaped and lit resort-style grounds of the Terrace Theater in Long Beach.

Brought to you by presenting sponsors John W. Hancock Family Foundation and Earl B. and Loraine H. Miller Foundation, Crescendo offers guests the opportunity to experience the Terrace Theater Plaza in a whole new light as they relax around open fire pits with a glass of wine or a cocktail and enjoy the ambiance of spectacularly lit fountains while bidding on rare wines and exclusive packages focused on wine, travel and music.

This year, LBSO presents a paperless silent auction with guests bidding on items using a hand-held device (provided) or through a secured network from their own smartphones.

Guests will enjoy a gourmet dinner prepared by Chef Gary Byars (formerly with Wolfgang Puck) while continuing to bid on items from the silent auction right from their dining tables.

5:30 pm – Premium Wine Tasting (ticketed separately)
6:00 pm – General Wine Tasting (ticketed separately)
6:30 pm – Reception on the Plaza
7:30 pm – Gourmet Dinner

After dinner, five teams of community participants step into barrels of grapes for a “stomping good time” while raising money to support LBSO programs. Guests can vote on their favorite stompers ($1 = 1 vote) at the event, or through each stomper’s webpage as listed on www.LBSO.org.

The evening concludes with guests “stomping” under the stars on the plaza dance floor to the beat of the 17-piece Hollywood Canteen Swing Band or relaxing with their favorite drink by an open fire.

LBSO Executive Director Robert Jones says, “Purchase tickets early because Crescendo is sure to sell out and we don’t want our Long Beach Symphony Orchestra friends to miss this one-of-a-kind event.”

“This annual fundraiser is necessary to provide the funding for our education programs, and for hiring the world-class musicians from all over the region that we bring here so you don’t have to go there,” adds Jones. “Ticket sales alone cannot support the epic performances of our Classics series at the Terrace Theater or the fun and friendly Orchestra POPS! dinner parties in the Arena.”

Tickets for Crescendo are $200 per person. Sponsorship packages start at $1,000. For more information about sponsorship opportunities, or to receive an invitation, contact Traci Glassock, LBSO Special Events Manager, at tglassock@lbso.org or (562) 436-3203, ext. 224.
