If you haven’t partied at a Symphony POPS! Concert yet this season, you have one more chance to treat yourself to an evening of great music, food and camaraderie. On Saturday, May 3, at the Long Beach Arena, the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra welcomes Tony award-winning conductor, Todd Ellison, and Broadway phenomenon, Susan Egan, to the stage for a night of Broadway’s best. The evening will be augmented by a special guest star appearance by Jane Lynch.

Ms. Egan has traversed all four corners of the entertainment industry, making powerful impressions in theatre, film, television and music. She headlined on Broadway as Thoroughly Modern Millie, won critical acclaim as “Sally Bowles” in Cabaret, starred in Triumph of Love and State Fair, and received Tony Award and Drama Desk nominations for “Best Actress” as the original “Belle” in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The May 3 program will include fan favorites from West Side Story, Gypsy, My Fair Lady, South Pacific, Cabaret, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Chicago, and a special medley from Beauty and the Beast.

Hailed by The New York Times as one of “Broadway’s electric conductors”, Todd Ellison is currently Music Director and Conductor of the new Broadway production of “Annie”. His substantial credits include “Monty Python’s Spamalot”, “La Cage aux Folles”, “42nd Street”, “Elton John’s “Lestat”, and Michel Legrand’s “Amour”, to name but a few.

Commenting on the concert, the Symphony’s Executive Director, Kelly Ruggirello, enthused, “This will be a season finale of grand proportion with top entertainers and our fabulous orchestra entertaining audiences with timeless Broadway classics.” She added that, “The Long Beach Symphony POPS! concerts are such a unique experience in Southern California. We encourage everyone to gather at Saturday’s concert for what promises to be an electric and thoroughly enjoyable performance.”

Hailed by The New York Times as one of “Broadway’s electric conductors”, Todd Ellison is one of the most accomplished and sought after Music Directors working today.
