If Long Beach feels more peaceful this weekend, there’s a reason. The Long Beach Zen Meditation Group will be the center of good vibes during Summer Zazenkai — a full day of meditation on Saturday, July 21 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“We invite everybody interested in meditation and/or Zen practice to join us for the whole day or part of the program or for only one half hour sitting period,” said Chris Patteeuw, LBZMB outreach coordinator. “During a Zazenkai, which is a full day of meditation, we remain silent and we meditate for several half hour periods. Newcomers will be given instruction.”
Guests are also invited to stay for a healthy wholesome vegetarian lunch around noon. Those who plan to have lunch should pre-register with a refundable deposit of $50. This event is free, although donations are highly appreciated.
Join the Long Beach Zen Meditation Group for Summer Zazenkai this Saturday at the Neighborhood United Methodist Church, 507 Pacific Avenue, Long Beach, Ca 90802. Visit www.zmc.org/longbeach for more details.
