The Pacific Gateway Workforce Investment Network’s wants to help prepare Long Beach workers for a career in infrastructure construction with no-cost training. The eleven-week, hands-on Construction Skills Training Program has a new class beginning on October 6 at the Center for Working Families.
Eligible participants can obtain certifications for Hazardous Waste Worker Protection and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER); OSHA 30, including Traffic Control and Confined Space; and CPR/First Aid.
Individuals will also enhance their industry skills, knowledge and certifications; and participate in life skills, resume writing and interview techniques workshops. Successful candidates will receive job placement assistance.
Desirable qualifications include prior construction trade experience, a valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.

- If applicable, bring unexpired Permanent Resident Card (Green Card).
