L’Opera Ristorante in Downtown Long Beach announced today that it will extend its special 20th Anniversary Sampling Menu offering by popular demand. The award-winning restaurant will also partner with the Center Long Beach, donating a portion of Friday proceeds through July in support of the organization, which serves the local gay and lesbian community.
L’Opera is one of Downtown Long Beach’s most esteemed dining establishments and celebrated its 20th Anniversary in its iconic Pine Avenue location on April 19, 2010. In honor of that milestone, owners Terry Antonelli and Enzo DeMuro introduced a special menu made up of a delicious sampling of signature dishes that are on the restaurant’s traditional menu.
The menu was introduced at the restaurant’s highly-attended 20th Anniversary reception in April and was intended to end its limited run at the conclusion of that month. An overwhelming response from restaurant patrons led management to extend the offering through June.
“We created this customized menu to celebrate some of the many dishes that have been a part of our 20 year history,” said DeMuro. “It’s incredible to get such an enthusiastic response from our customers and we’re excited to be able to partner with the Center as we extend this special offer.”
Recognized for exceptional Italian cuisine, L’Opera is also known for its signature dessert – Sacchetto Di Cooccolata. This one-of-a-kind chocolate box is filled with delicious custard and fresh fruit. Over the past 20 years, Chef Dora has molded more than 100,000 of these special desserts.
L’Opera Ristorante has received many awards and honors over the years, including the 2009 Wine Spectator Best Award for Excellence, the 2009 Open Table Diner’s Choice Award and has been called one of the top Italian restaurants in the US.A. by Zagat.
Giving Back to the Community
A portion of the proceeds from customers who order from either the regular menu or the 20th Anniversary Menu on Fridays during the months of June and July will be donated to the Center Long Beach, which provides a variety of services to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community in and around Long Beach. Guests need only identify themselves as Center Long Beach supporters and 10% of the proceeds from their meal will automatically be donated to the organization.
L’Opera Ristorante is located at 101 Pine Avenue in Downtown Long Beach. The 20th Anniversary Menu offer will extend from June 1 through July 31, 2010. For more information, please visit L’Opera Ristorante website or call (562) 491-0066.
