The promise of new life, hope and the joy of Easter will be celebrated at Los Altos United Methodist Church during three Sunday Morning services on Sunday, April 5, 2015.

Rev. Mark Ulrickson commented, “At the heart of our faith is the affirmation that ‘nothing can separate us from the love of God.’ Easter is our human “Alleluia!” rejoicing that, even in the midst of uncertainties, love finds a way.”

  • For early risers, the 8:30 AM service will host the Sanctuary Choir and Handbell Choir.
  • For those who enjoy an informal, family friendly service, the 9:20 AM service will gather in the Fellowship Hall. This service is lead by the praise band and has a special area for children (as well as graded Sunday School classes.)
  • The 11 a.m. service will be lead by the Sanctuary Choir, Brass Quintet and the Carillon Ringers. Graded Sunday School classes and professional child care are also provide during this time of worship.

Outside of the Easter Sunday experience, the church continues to offer “Everyone’s Inn,” a Wednesday evening intergenerational gathering including dinner, recreation time and small groups for all ages. Seasonal adult classes are also offered, focusing not only on bible study, but also on current issues in the news as they relate to our everyday lives. In addition, the church believes in servicing the community, including ESL Tutoring, monthly meals for the homeless, family visits to incarcerated parents and Habitat for Humanity building projects.

For children in the community, infants and toddlers have a newly refurbished childcare room with a professional caregiver. Sunday School is available all year round and young people can also partake in the children’s choir, youth choir and youth handbell choir. The youth group also allows for regular gatherings, special events, mission trips and other activities to be involved in the community.

New this year, Los Altos United Methodist Church offers three worship services each Sunday: 8:30 am in the sanctuary with hymn singing, prayer and organ accompaniment; 9:20 a.m. for an informal and relaxed setting supported by the church’s Praise Band in Fellowship Hall; and the 11 a.m. traditional service offered in the Sanctuary with the choir, organ, occasional handbell choirs and children’s choirs.
