share this:

On December 24 the church will celebrate the Christmas story in a variety of services throughout the day. Children will become shepherds and angels, candles will give light to “Silent Night,” handbell choirs and the Sanctuary choir will announce Christ’s birth. Services range from formal to contemporary, traditional to delightfully chaotic. The joy of the birth of Jesus will be celebrated in music offered by the church choir, traditional pipe organ and handbell ensemble as well as the worship band sharing carols and songs in contemporary styles. The church’s worship services include:

  • 2:00 PM Communion Service with Christmas Music
  • 5:00 PM Family Service with Children’s pageant
  • 7:30 PM Candlelight Service with Choir and Handbells
  • 10:00 PM Communion with Worship Band in the Hall

FREE PARKING is available for the festivities.

The Sunday after Christmas, Dec. 28, Los Altos United Methodist Church will host one worship service at 10:00 AM in the church Sanctuary.

Outside of the Christmas season, Los Altos United Methodist Church offers Sunday morning worship services at 8:30, 9:20 or 11:00 AM. Beyond Sunday worship services, the church strives to offer opportunities for every age level.

For infants and toddlers, there is a newly refurbished childcare room with a professional caregiver. For children and youth, Sunday School is available year-round, and “Everyone’s Inn” can bring the whole family together on Wednesday evenings.

In addition to regular gatherings, the youth group participates in special events, mission trips and activities that serve both our local and world-wide communities. For adults, the church offers classes focusing on Bible study and current issues in the news as they relate to our everyday lives.

Los Altos United Methodist Church is known for its incredibly impressive music program. Young people can partake in the children’s choir, youth choir and handbell choir. Adults can join the adult choir or handbell choir, not only performing at Sunday worship services, but at various performances throughout the year surrounding Easter, Christmas and other celebrations.

From worship flow our ministries and services in the community, including English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring, monthly meals for the homeless, family visits to incarcerated parents and Habitat for Humanity building projects.
