Lowenthal Adds Endorsement From Governor Brown in Bid For Mayor

Governor Jerry Brown threw his support behind Bonnie Lowenthal for Mayor of Long Beach.
“Bonnie Lowenthal has the experience, the vision, and the independence to be a great Mayor,” said Governor Jerry Brown.
Lowenthal partnered with Governor Brown to reform state goverment and return millions of dollars to cities and schools, including over $31 million to Long Beach alone.
“I am honored to be supported by Governor Jerry Brown. Together, we passed the first balanced budget with a surplus in over a decade, increased funding to local schools, and returned millions in tax dollars to cities like Long Beach,” said Lowenthal. “I will take that same independent, problem-solving approach to address our challenges here in Long Beach.”
Governor Brown joins supporters that include The Democratic Party, The Sierra Club, The L.A. County League of Conservation Voters, The L.A. County Federation of Labor, State Senator Ricardo Lara, Long Beach Unified School District Boardmembers Mary Stanton and John McGinnis, Long Beach Community College Trustee Mark Bowen and other community activists and leaders.
A resident of Long Beach for more than 40 years, Bonnie raised her family here and has worked across the community to improve schools, make neighborhoods safer, and make the city work better and more efficiently.
