Councilmember Lowenthal Hosts Second District eWaste & Recycling Drive Saturday

Second District Councilmember Dr. Suja Lowenthal, along with Goodwill Industries, Inc., and Long Beach Environmental Services Bureau will host the Second District eWaste & Recycling Drive Saturday, January 26, 2013.
This event will be the perfect chance to get rid of all sorts of items in your home following the holidays in a fast and convenient way. In addition to electronic waste,large appliances will be accepted such as refrigerators, washers and stoves – referred to as “white waste”. Also there will be “bulk item” drop-offs for items such as sofas, mattresses, chairs and other big items taking up space in your garage.
eWaste includes: …Computers, Monitors , Keyboards , TVs/ Big Screens , DVD Players, Fax Machines, Printers, Digital Clocks, Cell Phones, Digital Cameras.
In addition to eWaste, the following will be accepted:
- White goods are refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, etc.
- Bulk items are chairs, sofas, mattresses, etc.
- Shredding 1st Box Free – $5 Each Additional Box
- Gently used clothing, accessories and other items
- Household batteries only will be accepted
Cell phones will be donated to Interval House Crisis Center to help battered spouses and children successfully transition out of abusive homes
Sorry, industrial e-waste, other household hazardous waste or fluorescent tubes cannot be accepted.
The Second District eWaste & Recycling Drive is Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 9:00 am ~ 1:00 pm at Broadway Parking Lot, 335 E. Broadway,Long Beach, CA 90802. (Broadway & Long Beach Blvd.)
