Freedom Walk invites Long Beach to March Along for a Meaningful Celebration of Veterans Day
2010-10-26 · By Editor
Sponsors of the Long Beach Veterans Day Parade encourage the public to participate in the third annual “Freedom Walk in Support of our Troops.”
On Saturday, November 6, the parade and walk gives citizens a chance to show their gratitude to local veterans who’ve served the country. With so many soldiers of the war in Iraq returning home to Southern California, this year’s commemoration is more relevant than ever.
Freedom Walk participants will join the march along the parade route immediately following the veterans themselves. Individuals, teams and groups are all asked to take part.
The Freedom Walk offers everyone in the Long Beach area a rare chance to publicly acknowledge how much they appreciate the important work and commitment of our servicemen and servicewomen. To march side-by-side with the veterans is an active, fun, and personally powerful way to say thank you for the many sacrifices they’ve made to secure the freedom of people around the world.
