Mauricio Herrera

Align Productions is proud to announce Mauricio Herrera, famed star from television hit show America’s Got Talent is performing and supporting Festival Latino, Long Beach Latin Gay Pride, on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Marina Green Park on Shoreline Drive, from 10:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.

Mauricio’s management team contacted the producers of Festival Latino last month to express the performers’ interest in supporting the event. He will perform and donate proceeds from CD sales to the nonprofit organization, California Families in Focus, in which the event proceeds are supporting.

Herrera was born in Orange, California. However, it was his family’s decision to go back to Costa Rica where his musical career really began to blossom and take hold. The Showman Latino grabbed the opportunity of a lifetime by becoming the lead singer for the group, Banzai. This role led to an incredible experience as the opening act for renowned musical artists, such as Enrique Iglesias, Joaquin Sabina, Miguel Rios and Alejandro Fernandez, among many others.

The critical acclaim support pushed the Latin Showman to pursue a solo career. While such a move is often a hit or miss for many recording artists, this decision catapulted Herrera to even more success, including appearances on the cover of TV Guide Magazine in July of 2000 and March of 2002. Other notable appearances on Television and Publications include: Miss Costa Rica Juvenil, De Todo un Poco (Telemundo, EU), Miss Teen International, La Nacion (Show Biz) and Revista Domincal.

Most recently, he has released one album for his fans, which also features music from other artists as well as an Original production called: “AHORA” (NOW). Despite being in the music industry as a recognizable name for years, Mauricio Herrera the Showman continues to reinvent himself and gather new generations of fans.

Festival Latino is an annual event, honoring National Hispanic Heritage Month and the Latin LGBTQ Community, which will be held at the Marina Green Park, on 9.4 acres of parkland and nature reserve overlooking the picturesque Long Beach shoreline.  This cultural celebration will honor the traditions of the Latin community as well as empower those that attend with the ever essence of unity. The festival will showcase inspiring music and dance performances; foods, general merchandise, information and vending booths; and include various games and activities for members of our community.  This event is expected to attract thousands of spectators from the Greater Long Beach area bringing accord and harmony through out the day.

This event will benefit California Families in Focus (CFF), a 501 c3 organization that serves the needs of families and children in the Long Beach area. California Families in Focus is known for their many charitable events such as; the annual Spirit of Christmas Brunch, which serves over 700 children and families during the holiday season. They are committed to serving the community with leadership development, gang prevention, youth advocacy, youth mentoring, health/nutrition programs, conferences and workshops.

The event is open to the public and is welcoming of the LGBTQ community.  For more information log on to
