Mommy & Me (and Nature Makes Three!)
In the spring, we’ll discover waddling ducklings, furry bunnies, and fuzzy caterpillars. Join us for a morning of outdoorsy exploring with songs, stories, and crafts. Together we’ll celebrate Mother Nature, Mother’s Day, and our very own moms, too! Mommy & Me is for children ages 2 to 5 and their parents, $10 per adult and child pair. The workshop will take place Wednesday, May 2, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required; call 562.570.745 and reserve your spot today.
Members of the Southern California Turtle and Tortoise Club will display turtles from all over the world! Join us for the Turtle Show on Saturday, May 5, from 10 am to 3 pm at the Nature Center.
“Gateway to the Past” Nature Walk
Join a naturalist on a walk through the Nature Center’s California Native Plant Restoration Area to see oaks, birds, sages, and butterflies abound in this unique wild habitat. Explore the vital connection between plants, wildlife, and people that has persevered in our rapidly urbanizing region. This Nature Walk is for participants ages 10 and older, $5 per person, and will take place Saturday, May 5, from 10 am to noon.
Preschool in Nature: Budding Naturalists
Enrich your child’s learning in an interactive natural setting. Our preschool sessions will build your child’s social skills, creativity, and group cooperation, while exercising their minds and bodies on the trail of the Nature Center. Children must be between the ages of 3.5 to 5 years old and potty-trained, with a cost of $80 per child. This four-week session will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays for four weeks, May 8 to 31, from 10 to 11:30 am.
