Meals on Wheels of Long Beach and Long Beach Roller Derby Team Up

The Long Beach Roller Derby (LBRD) has partnered with Meals on Wheels of Long Beach in an effort to support community organizations in Long Beach. LBRD players will be packing hot and cold meals as a way of supporting Meals on Wheels of Long Beach and promoting the partnership between the two organizations.
Members of the Long Beach Roller Derby League, will be volunteering at Meals on Wheels of Long Beach on Wednesday, July 28th from 7:30 – 10 am at the Meals on Wheels of Long Beach East side location located at:

- 8:25 am Start packing cold lunches on assembly line
- 9:00 am Break
- 9:30 am Start packing hot dinners on assembly line
- 10:00 – 11:45 am Food is being delivered
Long Beach Roller Derby is donating back half of each ticket sold through Meals on Wheels of Long Beach website. Ordering tickets on the Meals on Wheels website will help Meals on Wheels raise funds to support our homebound community. Only tickets ordered through the MOW website or MOW representatives are eligible for the donation from LBRD.
Meals on Wheels of Long Beach will have a booth at the August 6th Long Beach Roller Derby event to promote the organization.
The Long Beach Roller Derby– Bixby Rollerettes vs. 4th Street Retro Rollers event is Friday, Aug 6, 2010, at the Queen Mary Dome 1126 Queensway Dr. Long Beach, 90802. Doors open 7 pm – Game @ 8:30 pm.
Meals on Wheels of Long Beach is dedicated to the in-home nourishment of the ill, disabled and elderly homebound residents in the cities of Long Beach and Signal Hill. Our goal is to keep them well fed and independent, in their own homes for as long as possible.
