MEET ME @ METRO, Summer’s Most Unusual & Entertaining Event!
2011-06-17 · By Editor
The Found is very pleased to have been selected to participate in the 2nd annual “Meet Me @ Metro,” an exciting theatrical journey that takes place at Metro stops between Watts and Long Beach, Saturday & Sunday, July 2 & 3 and 9 & 10.
Through the prism of this year’s “Traveling Circus” theme, Meet Me @ Metro II will entertain audiences with performances from 10 cutting-edge, professional Los Angeles area theater groups, including The Found and the Long Beach Theatre Arts Collaborative.
The event begins at the historic Watts Towers and participants ride the Metro from the 103rd St. station to Long Beach and back. You’ll experience colorful and inspiring performances near stations along the way as you become part of a side-show caravan. Each theater company has developed a five to 10 minute piece to engage the community using theater, dance, puppetry, music, spectacle and comedy.
Bring the family and enjoy a unique production that highlights the cultural richness and diversity of South Los Angeles and Long Beach. Come and be transported by Metro and the arts! Presented by Watts Village Theater Company in association with Watts/Century Latino Organization.
Come see your favorite Found performers in “Cirque de Stupide: The Dumbest Show On Earth!” with a nod of the top hat to Long Beach’s long gone but well-remembered Nu-Pike.
The MEET ME @ METRO II is Saturday & Sunday, July 2 & 3 and 9 & 10, 11 a.m.
Ticket prices for the event are Saturday performances: $11; Sunday performances: Pay what you can
