Beloved former Long Beach Symphony POPS! conductor Michael Krajewski returns to the stage of the Long Beach Arena on November 22 at 8:00 p.m., bringing his legendary wit and sense of humor to the POPS! audience in a concert that celebrates the world’s most famous spy! This exhilarating performance, entitled Bond and Beyond, will feature the iconic music and songs from over 50 years of James Bond movies, including From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Skyfall, plus tributes to other spies and detectives from around the world, such as Austin Powers, Dick Tracy, the Pink Panther and Mission Impossible.
Known for his entertaining programs and clever humor, Michael Krajewski is currently Music Director of The Philly Pops and Principal Pops Conductor of the Houston, Atlanta and Jacksonville Symphonies. Krajewski will be joined by Tony Award-winning vocalist Debbie Gravitte, who will light up the evening with her powerful and emotive renditions of these enduring tunes. Described by the Associated Press as “one of the best voices on Broadway,” Gravitte’s performance will most certainly make this an evening to remember!
As always, the audience will connect with the music while enjoying the unique POPS! indoor picnic atmosphere. Patrons are invited to bring their own libations or to purchase food and beverage from Arena concessionaires or select local caterers. New to this year’s POPS! concert series is a special section of Bistro-style seating; an exclusive, more intimate, elevated seating area with 4-top tables, a complimentary drink based on the evening’s musical theme and private Bistro bartender service. Doors open for all seating sections at 6:30 p.m. to allow time for dining and mingling with friends; the concert begins at 8:00 p.m.
Kelly Ruggirello, the Symphony’s Executive Director added, “We’re delighted to welcome Michael Krajewski back to the Long Beach Symphony POPS! for what promises to be a memorable and thoroughly enjoyable performance. We’re also grateful to our POPS! season sponsor, F&M Bank, and to Valero Energy for partially underwriting this particular concert.”
Hailed by The New York Times as one of “Broadway’s electric conductors”, Todd Ellison is one of the most accomplished and sought after Music Directors working today.
Arena seating starts at $21. To purchase tickets to this concert, please call 562-436-3203, ext. 232, or visit the symphony website: www.lbso.org.
