MindShift: Writers Who Rock to Host Free Writers Panel and Discussion

MindShift: Writers Who Rock presents a unique ensemble of established and emerging authors gathered for readings, discussion and networking, designed to encourage reading and literacy among adults and teenagers. This free event will take place at the Angelo Iacoboni Library in Lakewood, California, October 13, 2012 2 pm.
The MindShift panel features the following: Leo Buck, an entertainment journalist and owner of Buck-ing Trends which focuses on issues and interests involving members of the GLBTQ community. Cherise “Reese” Charleswell, a fashionista, poet, artist, and author of “Real Talk Tips, Laugh-out-loud Pointers and Suggestions for the Morally Challenged, Socially Inept and the People Who Love Them,” Tamara Johnson, author of “31 Dates in 31 Days” a writer, motivational speaker, and coach for dating and relationships. Johnson wrote for ABC’s “Good Morning America” in New York City and worked as a newscast producer for KATU-TV in Portland, Oregon among other markets. Jackie Joice, author of the paranormal urban novel “Kanika’s Burdens, Sasha Kildare, a blogger, and author of “Dream Walking: A Novel of Madness and Healing,” Stephanie Minasian-Koncewicz writer for Gazettes Newspapers, and special guest Michael Almaraz, a Master Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Life coach who works with writers and others to unleash blocks to creativity and maximize their artistic potential. Snacks and coffee will be served and parking is free. The event is co-sponsored by Long Beach Arts Council and Poets and Writers.
