Molina offers free neighborhood shuttle service in North Long Beach

molina-free-shuttleMolina Medical, a Long Beach health care organization serving the community for 25 years, has launched a new free neighborhood shuttle service in North Long Beach.

The shuttle stops every hour at 15 stops along a route that include doctors, pharmacies, library, markets (for fresh fruits and vegetables), parks, churches and major hospitals. The wheelchair accessible shuttle operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“NLB has wanted a “roundabout” type shuttle service in this area for years,” said Carina Cristiano Leon of the Leadership Long Beach Connected Corridor project. “From the beginning of the Connected Corridor project, this was on many wish lists. Connecting this need with an added layer of promoting healthy living couldn’t be more time appropriate.”

The free Van Shuttle connects residents to senior care, library services, and even a Farmer’s Market in Bixby Knolls on Thursdays.

The shuttle route begins in the north at Molina Medical Group, 540 East Artesia Boulevard at the corner of Atlantic and Artesia Boulevards.You do not need to be a patient of Molina Medical Group to ride the free neighborhood shuttle in North Long Beach.
