Ever walked the El Dorado duck pond and wondered who were all those beautiful winged wonders who inhabit the pond? Once local artists respond to the call to submit their renderings of the wild birds, you will be able to see them via the “Long Beach Winged Wonders” banner project being launched by Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske.

Great Backyard Bird Count: Join folks at the Nature Center to become a scientist for a day! Help to count our feathery friends and gather data that helps determine the effects of global warming on birds. The Bird Count will occur Saturday, February 19, from 10 a.m.

Volunteers to plant 100 trees in El Dorado Park South


The City of Long Beach Neighborhood Services Bureau in partnership with El Dorado Park South neighborhood Association and the crew of the USS Dewey will be planting 100 trees in the neighborhood. The funding for the trees is part of a Grant that the City was awarded from the State of California’s Green Trees for the Golden State Grant.
