On Saturday, Councilmember Suja Lowenthal planted one of fifteen trees to mark the end of a busy week with 88 new trees being placed in empty tree wells all along East 7th Street from Alamitos to Junipero Avenue.
Volunteers are needed for a community tree planting along the Seventh Street corridor in Rose Park this weekend.
Second District Councilmember Suja Lowenthal, residents and volunteers from Rose Park Neighborhood Association, East Seventh Street Collaboration, Craftsman Village Historic District and North Alamitos Beach Association will also celebrate recent and ongoing improvements contributing to the revitalization of the historic corridor prior to planting trees.
