On Saturday, Councilmember Suja Lowenthal planted one of fifteen trees to mark the end of a busy week with 88 new trees being placed in empty tree wells all along East 7th Street from Alamitos to Junipero Avenue.
Volunteers are needed for a community tree planting along the Seventh Street corridor in Rose Park this weekend. Second District Councilmember Suja Lowenthal, residents and volunteers from Rose Park Neighborhood Association, East Seventh Street Collaboration, Craftsman Village Historic District and North Alamitos Beach Association will also celebrate recent and ongoing improvements contributing to the revitalization of the historic corridor prior to planting trees.

The Rose Park Neighborhood Association will present a Historic District Seminar Series. The purpose is to reach Realtors and others who facilitate housing sales in Historic Districts and learn the requirements of real estate sales of properties within historic districts.
Long Beach Animal Care Services will provide a low-cost clinic on Saturday, April 28, from 12:30 – 2 pm at Rose Park, at 8th Street and Orizaba Avenue. No reservation is necessary, but only cash is accepted for vaccinations. A State Licensed Veterinarian from the Southern California Veterinary Vaccine Clinic (SCVVC) will be onsite to provide the shots, and residents can process their license renewals onsite.
Are you interested in the history of your neighborhood? Well, if you live in the neighborhoods along the east end of 7th Street then you’re in for a treat. Curious residents will have the opportunity to learn about these neighborhoods, how they developed and the new website devoted to this part of local history at a free seminar this Saturday.
