Parker’s Lighthouse Preps for $2.5M Modern Remodel

Parker's Lighthouse expects the renovations to be complete by 2011. The remodel will include a new Lounge & Patio.

Parkers’ Lighthouse, known for its mesquite grilled fresh seafood, announces a $2.5 million remodel and modernization project scheduled to be completed by early 2011.

“As we approach nearly 30 years in business at this location, we are freshening our restaurant with a new look and feel,” notes longtime General Manager Michael Cole. “While Parkers’ will continue to be in the forefront of fine seafood dining, it is important to bring new energy to this Southern California favorite.”

The restaurant’s menu will feature Executive Chef Jason Stein’s pioneering, Southern California seafood dishes as well as expanded steak, pasta, and chicken selections. Parkers’, also, offers fresh and creative sushi and sashimi prepared by award-winning Sushi Chef Gene Hsieh.

The gourmet food trucks are returning to Long Beach by popular demand! It was clear with the overwhelming success of Long Beach’s first street food festival in July that participants and attendees alike wanted a second helping. On October 9, 2010, LA and Orange County’s preeminent mobile eateries will once again roll in to scenic Rainbow Lagoon Park serving their delectable fare.

The Long Beach Street Food Festival “Truckin’ back to the LBC” will feature more than 25 of Southern California’s favorite gourmet food trucks, a beer garden and rockin’ live entertainment! Many of these trucks attract rock star followings, thanks in part to the latest Food Network hit “The Great Food Truck Race”. The Nom Nom Truck will make an appearance along with Crepes Bonaparte, and Nana Queens.

I often venture down to Shoreline Village and wonder why there isn’t just a simple burger joint with cold beer, gourmet hot dogs, and Fish & Chips served in paper? The village is filled with either fancy steak houses or your typical chain fare, and not one flip flop friendly, boat drink serving, Jimmy Buffet-esque establishment where you can roll up on your Catalina, tie off, and enjoy a can of Tecate and some fresh Mahi Mahi tacos while sitting in the sun. Someday, perhaps? While down in the village the last time, for a pub-crawl type party, I stumbled on the newest restaurant in a sea of chain franchises and stale, bourgeois establishments.

Rainbow Lagoon Invaded by The Great Shark Affaire

How long has the All American Melodrama been in business?:

We celebrated our first year in business June 28, 2009.

Describe your business:

The All American Melodrama presents evenings of “Old Fashioned” fun! Ragtime piano tunes fill the air of our Victorian style theater, that features comfortable seats and cozy cabaret tables.

Our comical troupe of professional actors present classic melodramas, movie satires, improv comedy shows,small intimate music concerts and holiday themed extravaganzas.
