ninos-restaurantFirst Fridays in Bixby Knolls may be postponed until August, but that’s not stopping Nino’s from hosting their monthly art opening.

Tonight, Friday, June 5 Nino’s Art Bar will be open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. serving appetizers, cocktails and fine art from Kelly D. Williams and Seong-Heon Kim.

“We have planned a great night of art and fun and we hope that you will not be put off by the cancellation of First Friday and join us for some fascinating new art, fine Italian food and a cocktail,” said Art Bar organizer Doug Orr via email. “We would like to build this into a weekly event and we need your support to make it happen. “…Get out this Friday night and visit the ART BAR at Nino’s.”

Kelly D. Williams presents “That Was Now, This is Then” a collection of new, large paintings and minute drawings that punctuate his past works.

Seon-Heon Kim has reworked photographic evidence of is life and printing the results across 31 ceramic masks — each molded from a segment of his face. This regiments of self-portraits parades the differences possible within the uniformity of a single memory.

The kick-off Art Bar, Nino’s is offering a special sale. Buy any cocktail in the art gallery, and take the same price discount off any two dinner entrees in the dining room.

I invite everyone to Nino’s on Dec. 4 — this is the First Friday Art Walk for Bixby Knolls — and my watercolor paintings will be going on display at Nino’s. I will be there all evening to talk to visitors and answer any questions about my art.

My paintings will be on display throughout December and are the perfect Xmas gift for a special friend or loved one!

I am currently working on several Long Beach-themed paintings to add to my collection and will have them ready for this exhibit, along with my earlier paintings which were previously on display at Sipology throughout the month of October, and at many of the downtown Long Beach 2nd Saturday Art Walks.

I look forward to seeing you there.

If you are interested in purchasing any of my paintings before the exhibit starts, please feel free to contact me.
