NLB Community Action Group Hosts Independence Day Celebration and Open House Sunday

The North Long Beach Community Action Group invites residents to attend their annual community BBQ Sunday, July 01, 2012 at the Historic Long Beach Dairy and Creamery.

There are no membership dues for the Community Action Group and the tax-deductible celebration donation is $3.00.

The Independence Day Celebration and annual open house is Sunday, July 01, 2012, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, at The Historic Long Beach Dairy and Creamery 167 E. South Street, Long Beach, CA 90805. For additional information contact 562-428-7710.

The North Long Beach Community Action Group and History Project Team was the recipient of the prestigious Neighborhoods USA 2008-2009 National Grand Prize winner as Neighborhood of the year. The Community Action Group and History Project received national recognition as the first neighborhood group in Long Beach to win the 2008 NUSA grand prize and first place in their category social revitalization.

NLB CAG is a 501©3 focused on advocacy, education, neighborhood and community improvement. The North Long Beach Community Action Group (NLBCAG or CAG) was formed in 1994 by concerned community members in response to civil unrest in the early 1990’s.

The purpose of CAG is to improve our neighborhoods using the following strategies:

  • Maintain or improve property values
  • Improve the appearance of our area through beautification
  • Unify residents, advocate community causes, unify groups and business owners; and
  • Plan for the future.
