Power 4 Youth Seeks Volunteers for 2016

Power 4 Youth, an academic mentoring program for at-risk middle school students, will be holding a no-obligation information meeting for prospective volunteers on Monday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m.  The program is looking for adults from all walks of life to meet weekly one-on-one with a youth at Power 4 Youth sites to assist with academic help through building a caring mentor relationship with a young person.

Believe in a Miracle at Long Beach Rescue Mission Gala

Long Beach Rescue Mission hosts their 2nd annual gala, Believe In a Miracle: Your Light Matters, on Thursday, December 10 at the Hilton Hotel on Ocean Boulevard. The purpose of the event is to raise funds in support of their year-round programs serving the homeless and hurting in Long Beach, which provide emergency shelter, warm meals, job training, and spiritual counseling.
