NRC And LB Water Dept Sponsor “Plants for a Drought Tolerant Landscape” Workshop

garden-incentive-programLong Beach residents are invited to learn about “Plants for a Drought Tolerant Landscape,” on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Neighborhood Resource Center.

Barbara Paul, Landscape Designer, will discuss plant selection and success for a drought tolerant landscape, lawn alternatives and trees for small spaces.

The Neighborhood Resource Center and the Long Beach Water Department are sponsoring the workshop to help people reduce the amount of water they use while still keeping their yards vibrant and colorful.
Attendees are invited to bring canned food to donate to Food Finders to assist our Long Beach neighbors during the current economic crisis.

The Plants for a Drought Tolerant Landscape training takes place on  Wednesday, November 10, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the Neighborhood Resource Center, 425 Atlantic Ave., 90802.

This free workshop will be presented in English with Spanish and Khmer translation available. Free parking is available behind the building and on the street.
