The Long Beach Police Department’s Vice Investigations Section, in cooperation with investigators from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), conducted an undercover operation throughout Long Beach on Monday, October 13, 2014.

The “Minor Decoy” operation targeted employees of ABC licensed establishments, such as liquor or convenience stores, who sold alcohol to minors. Minors under the age of 21, under the supervision of the L.B.P.D., attempted to purchase alcohol from store employees.

During the course of the “Minor Decoy” operation, 10 establishments were visited, resulting in one citation being issued to an employee for selling alcohol to a minor. The citation was issued at 5440 Long Beach Boulevard. Investigators also recovered four slot machines found hidden on premises and cited the owner for possession of gaming machines.

The Long Beach Police Department was pleased to see establishments in compliance with ABC laws and will continue to enforce ABC laws at all establishments throughout the city.
