One Lucky Couple Will Win a Wedding Valued At Up To $50,000 In The Torrance Marriott South Bay’s “Ultimate Wedding Experience” Contest

With the average cost of a wedding in 2010 estimated to have increased 21.9% to $23,867*, couples who have recently gotten engaged may want to consider entering the “Ultimate Wedding Experience” contest hosted by the Torrance Marriott South Bay and sponsored by Marriott International.

According to Pam Ryan, General Manager, one lucky couple will win a wedding at the Torrance Marriott South Bay on October 1, 2011 for 120 people.  The wedding, valued at up to $50,000, will include the wedding ceremony, reception, and dinner dance; a wedding night stay in the Presidential Suite of the hotel; as well as the services of a wedding coordinator, photographer, flowers, videographer, and much more.
To enter**, couples who are legal residents of the state of California; are 21 years of age or older as of January 9, 2011; are engaged to be lawfully married to the other member of the couple at the time of entry; and are ready, willing, and able to be lawfully married on October 1, 2011, are invited to submit a short essay of 1,000 words, as well as a video that addresses the following three questions:

How did you get engaged?

What would winning mean to you?

What, if any, ties do you have to the Torrance/South Bay area?

Entries will be accepted from now through February 21, 2011.  The public can then vote from February 22 through March 13 for the couple they deem most deserving of the wedding (voting is limited to one time per day per ip address).  Once the voting concludes, the top five entrant videos that received the most votes will qualify as the “Finalist Couples.” A panel of judges — to include Pam Ryan, General Manager of Torrance Marriott South Bay; Ida Gardner, Owner, Ida Gardner Events; Melissa Evans, Writer, Daily Breeze; Gwen Fandel, Premier Bridal Shows; and Karie Klaczkiewicz, Senior Catering Sales Executive, Torrance Marriott South Bay — will select the grand prize winner.

The winning couple will be announced on April 3 at the Premier Bridal Show at the Torrance Marriott South Bay and they must be in attendance to claim their prize.
