Orizaba Park Hood Games on June 26!

On Saturday, June 26, at 11:00 a.m., Orizaba Park will come alive with the sounds of skateboarders and fun at the second “Hood” Games. This popular block party and skate jam is sponsored by Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine, in partnership with West East- Side Community Association, Fourth district Councilmember Patrick O’Donnell, the Long Beach Neighborhood Service Bureau, the East Anaheim Street Business Alliance and the Long Beach Police Department. Orizaba Park is located at the junction of Orizaba Avenue and Spalding Street.
This free event has something for everyone – besides skateboarding, there will be special guests and pro skaters, music, arts & crafts and refreshments. Festivities are scheduled from 11 a.m until 4 p.m.
From June 16-18, the Uptown Dog park will be closed in preparation for the project that will involve installation of new fencing and enlarging the dog park, and adding new benches and landscaping. Residents are welcome to volunteer in helping with the improvements on June16 at 8 am and to bring families ans their dogs on June 19th at 10 am to celebrate the renovated park.
