Pacific Coast Urology Medial Center today announced that it is hosting a Girls’ Time Out event during Bladder Health Awareness Month. The fun, social event is designed to encourage women to take time out to face bladder control issues and recognize that they are not alone. Pacific Coast Urology Medical Center is inviting women of all ages to attend the event where they will receive educational materials and an opportunity to talk with a bladder health physician who can discuss treatment options.

“One common problem is overactive bladder, which has embarrassing symptoms that seriously impact quality of life,” said Dr. Robert Pugach, Medical Director, Pacific Coast Urology Medical Center. “Many women struggle with bladder control problems for a long time, because they are embarrassed or don’t know that effective treatments are available. By hosting a Girls’ Time Out event during Bladder Health Awareness Month, we hope that we will encourage people who are suffering to reclaim control of their health and their quality of life.”

The Girls’ Time Out events are part of a national women’s health campaign called Facing Our Moments Together. Pacific Coast Urology Medical Center will host the local event on November 11, 2010, with the choice of two times — 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. — at the Residence Inn Marriott, 4931 Katella Avenue, Los Alamitos. The event will be led by Dr. Pugach, who will be available to talk about bladder control problems and available treatment options. There will be refreshments, door-prize giveaways and free chair massages. The event will be a fun, interactive occasion for women to learn about, and take care of, their bladder health.

One in six adults in the United States suffers from bladder control issues. There are different symptoms for bladder control problems, and treatment options are available that can help.
