Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach hosted a series of reunions to bring together former patients, their families and the care teams who helped them recover during their hospital stay, for a day of beach-themed fun and celebration.
The 3rd Annual Pediatric Rehabilitation Reunion, 4th Annual Pediatric Heart Surgery Reunion and 9th Annual Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Reunion were hosted in an auditorium at Miller Children’s which was completely transformed into a beach paradise for patients. Each reunion featured a live bubble show, beach ball games, arts and crafts sessions, pet therapy dogs, face painting and more.
The reunions featured a variety of sponsors, including Rossmoor Pastries, Aquarium of the Pacific, Painted Turtle, Signal Hill Police Department, Kohl’s Cares Injury Prevention Program, Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach Auxiliary and more.
Each reunion provided a special opportunity for patients and their families to thank the care teams who helped care for them throughout their hospital stay.
“The reunions are a great way to reconnect patients with the care team members who made such a difference in their lives,” says Rita Goshert, manager, Child Life Program, Miller Children’s. “Each reunion is always so fun. Seeing patients reunite with their doctors and nurses again is heartwarming.”
