peacebuildersCal State Long Beach and PeacePartners, Inc. are offering another course in peaceful behavior management beginning Thursday.

PeaceBuilders is a violence prevention program for parents, educators and other youth providers working with kids from preschool to high school age. PeaceBuilders has been implemented in thousands of schools, homes, and communities nationwide for the last fifteen years. The program teaches strategies and activities to help young people develop skills enabling them to interact peacefully with each other and with adults.

Participants will learn techniques to reduce aggression, promote language development, teach pro-social skills, increase parenting skills and foster safer communities.

The course, which runs through February 4, is open to the public. Sessions last from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. A second course will take place Thursdays, March 25-April 8.

The Peacebuilders courses are part of the College of Continuing and Professional Education at CSULB. The sessions will take place on the Cal State Long Beach Campus, 1000 Studebaker Rd., Long Beach, CA 90815.
