Police Investigate Possible Gang Related Homicide

On Sunday, December 14, 2014, at approximately 12:45 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of East Pacific Coast Highway in regards to a drive-by shooting, which resulted in the death of a male adult.
When officers arrived, they discovered a male adult subject who had been struck in the torso by gunfire. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Long Beach Fire Department paramedics, and pronounced deceased shortly thereafter.
The preliminary investigation determined that the victim had been approached my two male Blacks in a dark colored vehicle, when one of the occupants opened fire striking the victim. The vehicle then fled westbound on Pacific Coast Highway.
The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Robert Lee Hollie of Long Beach.
A motive for the shooting is unknown, however, the incident is being investigated as possibly gang-related.
