Police Seek Additional Info in Mobile Home Park Shooting

attempt homicideOn Saturday, January 19, 2013, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Long Beach Police responded to a mobile home park in the 6400 block of Atlantic Avenue in regards to a shooting that resulted in the death of a male adult.

When officers arrived, they discovered two shooting victims outside of a residence. Both were transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds to the upper torso; however, one of the victims was pronounced deceased after arriving.

The preliminary investigation indicates that three male and one female Black subjects entered a residence and the shooting occurred, resulting in two occupants of the residence being struck by gunfire. The suspects then fled from the location in a vehicle.

After being shot, both victims also ran from the residence and were found outside by arriving officers. The deceased is only being identified at this time as a 24-year-old Long Beach resident pending notification of next of kin. The second victim, a 28-year-old Long Beach resident, sustained what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

The motive for the shooting is unknown and the investigation remains ongoing. No additional suspect information is available at this time.
